Hello everyone and thank you for checking out this wow classic video! If you’re enjoying these videos or have any questions, please let me know in the comments below, like the videos and subscribe! They really help out the channel and help more people learn these strategies!

In today’s world of warcraft classic video we take a look at macros and keybinds, and specifically the ones that I use in all of my farms. Macros are an efficient way to optimize your rotation and make sure you’re getting the most out of your aoe gold farming/power level. Similarly, having proper keybinds allows you to make sure that you’re casting all abilities efficiently and not jumping around your keyboard or losing that split second which can make the difference.

Thank you everyone and I hope this video helped you in some way! If it did or if you have any questions, please let me know in the comments below. Look forward to seeing you all in the next video!

  2. A useful macro for Ice Block to save a keybind:

    #ShowToolTip
    /Cancelaura Ice Block
    /Cast Ice Block

If you are in Ice Block, this will remove the Ice Block aura and free you. If you are not in Ice Block, this will cast Ice Block.

  3. Found your channel recently and enjoy it immensely. I downloaded your excel spreadsheet and appreciate all the info it contains. I did not notice your keybinds on this spreadsheet…would it be possible to get them from you? Thank you again for your videos.

  4. is it possible to create a macro that applies mana shield, ice barrier and frost ward at the same time? I have these spells key bound, but would be nice to have a single key bind that would re-apply whatever has fallen off. so if only ice barrier is down it wont re-apply whats already up (ie mana shield) but reapply barrier or ward if fallen off. Am i asking for too much? I feel like managing these shields shouldn't be so taxing.

  5. Do these macros still work for you in classic? Mine are not working and i believe they are written correctly. you know of any reason why these wouldnt work. i have cleared all other keybinds thinking that maybe they were interfering with the macro but still didnt work. weather im holding shift or not holding shift it still cast max rank

  6. I have ctr alt and shift as buttons on my mouse that I use to get the most keybinds as possible. It frees up my keyboard hand to be moved to the middle where I can reach the most keys. If anyone wants my elvui profile just let me know and I will send the string so you can use it too.

  7. @ 12:15 minutes, which fingers do you use to move with QWE. You're talking about using your pointer finger to press R while having W&E pressed down. naturally I use my middle finger on W and my ring and index finger for left and right. Just curious.

  8. I recommend using this for ice block

    #showtooltip
    /stopcasting
    cast !Ice Block

it prevents accidental canceling when spamming ice block button
then use a seperate cancelaura macro with ANOTHER useful spell

    the one I use is

    #showtooltip
    /stopcasting
    /cancelaura Ice Block
    /cast Frost Nova(Rank 1)

it works well because very often you want to Nova as soon as you drop Ice block.

  9. yoo arlaeus sick vids man 🙂 i see u have a seperate key for cancelling iceblock, so thought this might be handy – its a macro to make it one button:
    #showtooltip Ice Block
    /cancelaura Ice Block
    /dismount
    /stand
    /cast Ice Block
press once for sitting, spam for cleansing 😀 hope this can save you a precious spot on the action bar aswell as it did for me !

  10. great video but if you change the text in your macros a little it could be a little better. at least in my opinion. for example.

    #showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift] Arcane Explosion (Rank 1); Arcane Explosion

What this does, is if you don't have your shift button held down it shows the tooltip for max rank, but if you have your shift modifier activated then it shows the tool tip for rank 1.

    Also,

    #showtooltip
    /cancelaura Ice Block
    /cast Ice Block

allows you to have 1 key bind for both ice block and cancel aura. If you hit once you ice block (nothing to cancel), if you hit it again it cancels the ice block.

You can also do something like this if you want to limit the number of buttons on your screen.

    #showtooltip
    /cast [mod:shift] Blizzard (Rank 1); [mod:alt] Flamestrike; Blizzard

This will cast max rank blizzard and show tooltip for max rank with no mod. it will show tool tip and cast make rank Flamestrike if you have alt activated, and it will show tooltip and cast rank 1 blizzard with shift modifier activated.

Obviously your macros work, but I just wanted to post this, for simplicity / less text in macros / less buttons showing on screen for players that want fewer bars.

  11. I've rearranged my keybinds and bars to replicate the position it has in meat space, and I use [mod:] to put shift, etc in macros rather then devote a bind to it. I end up having to macro a lot more, bit it gives me a LOT finer control over ability paging as opposed to bar paging or having four buttons used up with one key and three mods. For example, shift leaves everything normal but swaps out at for mt abilities, like replaces HS with cleave on my warrior.

Oh, if you need to save one character in a macro use /use instead of /cast and you can also take out all spaces after any particular instruction, such as /use [mod:shift] Fireball (rank 1); Fireball becomes /use [mod:shift]Fireball(rank1);Fireball. It is more readable with space but uses more characters as well. /Tar instead of /target. And to auto pick targets like a melee ability add two lines: /targetenemy [nodead, noexist] /canceltarget [dead, harm] (I think…..it's close to that if my memory is bad since I'm not in front of my computer). You can also ecit macros out of game by opening the character or account macros-cache.txt file found in the WTF folder.

  12. Hi, thanks for this usefull video ! I learnt a lot for my mage. I've got one question though : do you have any idea on how to pull off a macro that could handle the weapon switch in order to optimize your evocation with spirit gear ?

  13. Protip:
If you use #showtooltip, instead of #showtooltip [spellname], the tooltip automatically changes!

    So for example:

    #showtooltip
    /cast [nomod] Frostbolt
    /cast [mod:shift] Fireball

Would change the tooltip from Frostbolt to Fireball when you're holding down shift, and show Frostbolt when you're not.
This also would change the shown Rank of the currently selected spell, ie.: Frostbolt and Frostbolt(Rank 1)

  14. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I can't get the downshift macro to work. When I press F4, I see an arcane explosion max rank, when I press shift+F4 simultaneously nothing happens. Is there something I must setup in the Key Bindings to allow mod:shift to begin with? I copy pasted your macro correctly, there is no typo. Thanks

  15. @cursor: Yesterday I've found that @cursor modifier works with Blizzard. I couldn't get it working earlier, no matter, works now. 🙂
[nochanneling] : to not break current Blizzard, I use mod:alt if I want to cast new one while channeling.

In any case, thank you for sharing this insanely fun knowledge!

  16. With regardless too the delay with LIP and IB, can you not just use LIP rather than having to cancel aura? I haven't tried it myself so I don't know… would also allow a quick nova afterwards too
